County Executive Race: What You Need to Know

Information on the upcoming 2025 Prince George’s County Special Election.

Important Dates

  • Primary Election Early Voting: February 26-March 3
  • Primary Election Day: March 4
  • General Election Early Voting: May 28-June 2
  • General Election: June 3

What is the election for?

With the departure of former County Executive Angela Alsobrooks to the U.S. Senate, a special election for a new Prince George’s County Executive has been scheduled for June 3, 2025. Every voter in the county will get to choose their next county executive.

Also included in this race is the District 5 Special Election, a seat previously held by Jolene Ivey, who now serves as an At-Large (or county-wide) council member. Check the map at the bottom of the page to see if you live in District 5.
